Female Hockey Information

Welcome to the PGMHA Female Hockey Information Page

Female Hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the country and PGMHA is working toward a fun and inclusive hockey model to develop the skill and confidence of all female participants.

Females can join as early as our U7 program and will graduate minor hockey after U18. Once they reach U13 there are two streams to follow, a player can continue to play in the recreational stream or they can play at the development/representative stream.

The large-scale plan for Female Hockey is to create an all-Female Recreational League at each division within PGMHA. While we work toward this goal, we have a set plan and path for Female Hockey.

Recreational

U7 Recreational

No previous experience required
Our goal is to place all the girls together on team(s) of 18.
The team(s) will most likely be placed at the U7 minor division level.

U9 Recreational

No previous experience required
Our goal is to place all the girls together on team(s) of 18.
The team(s) will most likely be placed at the U9 minor cross-ice division

U11 Recreational

Some skating experience required
Our goal is to place all the girls together on team(s) of 12.
Depending on the number of players at the U11 & U13 level we will combine these levels to form all female teams.

U13 Recreational

Skating experience required
Our goal is to place all the girls together on team(s) of 12.
Depending on the number of players at the U11 & U13 level we will combine these levels to form all female teams.

U15 Recreational

Skating experience required
Our goal is to place all the girls together on team(s) of 12.
Depending on the number of players at the U15 & U18 level we will combine these levels to form all female teams.

U18 Recreational

Skating experience required
Our goal is to place all the girls together on team(s) of 12.
Depending on the number of players at the U15 & U18 level we will combine these levels to form all female teams.
